Amie (Amz) Slade

First performance?

I was in a dance show aged two and spent most of it looking lost. As I wasn’t born to be a prima ballerina, I turned to singing and acting instead.

What makes a good party?

Whoop Whoop Entertainment of course! But seriously, getting together with family and friends, having fun and going for it on the dance floor (even if you think you look daft).

Weirdest experience on stage?

I’ve worked as a holiday camp entertainer so that was often wacky! I dressed up as a giant rabbit lots and once had to eat a pork pie with squeezy cheese and squirty cream. It was revolting.

Favourite party food?

Definitely not pork pie with squeezy cheese and cream. I’m a buffet fiend so couldn’t possibly pick one favourite thing!

Matt Slade

Why performing?

Most of my family are theatrical so I started very young and have always been involved, even training in Musical Theatre.

First album?

'What Will the Neighbours Say?’ by Girls Aloud. Not sure if I should be slightly embarrassed about that but I'm not.

Debut solo song?

‘Blue Suede Shoes’ by Elvis. We used to put on a show for the rest of the family at Christmas. I was about five and wore a little bow tie and waistcoat for the occasion.

Fun fact?

Before I was born, Amz and my older brother were asked if they’d prefer a dog or a new sibling. They’ve wound me up ever since saying they answered ‘dog’. Not sure how the dog would have fared in a singing act...
